GrowGrid

Planned garden planning with editor and local planning data

Released: June 2026Last updated: May 2026

GrowGrid is planned as a browser web app for structured garden planning. Users should be able to organize areas, beds, plants and seasonal tasks in an editor without immediately needing an account or a central garden database.

About GrowGrid

GrowGrid is planned as a garden planning web app. The core should be an editor that lets users plan beds, areas and planting zones visually or structurally.

Because the project is still planned, features are deliberately described as a concept. There is no false live claim and no public usage URL.

Planned Workflow

Users should create a garden or area, draw spaces, define beds and plan seasonal tasks. Guide pages should help with planting distances, timing windows and care hints.

Storage is planned as local-first: planning data should initially stay in the browser and be exportable when needed.

Planned Use Cases

GrowGrid should be useful for vegetable beds, balcony plants, small gardens, seasonal sowing plans and simple care overviews.

The project is not planned as professional agricultural software, but as a lightweight planning tool for private garden workflows.

Planned Technical Implementation

The editor should run in the browser and keep planning state locally. Likely building blocks are React state, local browser storage, export features and static guide pages.

If sync or accounts are added later, the data model must be described separately. The current plan deliberately avoids central storage of sensitive garden data.

Privacy Concept

GrowGrid is planned as a local-first tool. Garden plans, notes and seasonal data should not automatically be uploaded into a central user account.

This reduces data exposure but has limits: local browser data can be lost when storage is cleared or devices are changed. Export and backup therefore need to be considered carefully.

Planned garden planning

  1. Create garden

    Define area, bed or balcony.

  2. Plan areas

    Structure beds and zones.

  3. Plan season

    Map sowing, care and harvest.

  4. Store locally

Keep the plan in the browser and export it.

Planned GrowGrid Architecture

Planning state should stay local and be supported by guide content.
