SafeCodeScan is a browser based web app for QR codes and barcodes. Users can scan codes, check contents, generate new codes, style them and prepare them for print or export.
The project is for everyday code workflows where registration and server processing should not be necessary.
Scanner and Generator Workflow
When scanning, the web app reads camera or image input in the browser and decodes the content locally. When generating, the user enters text, URL or structured data and the generator creates a QR code or barcode.
The design studio allows adjustments for display, print and export. Processing stays in the browser; there is no custom backend API for code contents.
Use Cases
SafeCodeScan is useful for business cards, Wi-Fi QR codes, product labels, event hints, inventory codes, test data and quick safety checks before opening a QR destination.
The focus is small, understandable workflows rather than a central code database.
Technical Implementation
Scanner, decoder, generator and design studio run client side. Camera access uses browser APIs and requires user permission. Generated content is rendered and exported locally.
There are no user accounts, no database and no backend API for code contents. Multilingual UI and content pages support German and English.
Privacy and Local Processing
Scanned and generated codes are processed locally in the browser. SafeCodeScan can be used without an account and does not store a central code history.
Camera permissions remain browser controlled. Users should still handle sensitive codes deliberately because QR contents can open external websites depending on the target.
