Binavelle is a local audio studio for binaural sessions on iPhone, currently in development. Find help with headphones, frequencies, your own audio files, sleep schedule, export, Free, and Pro here. The app is not yet available on the App Store.
For the intended binaural effect, the left and the right ear must receive their respective different tone signals separately. Stereo headphones are intended for this. Over speakers or with mixed channels, the effect may not occur.
Check that you are wearing stereo headphones and both sides fit properly, that no mono option is active in iOS Accessibility settings, and that the left and right levels are not set to zero. Reverse Channels swaps the channels. Perception is individual, and an audible difference is not promised.
The carrier frequency is the midpoint, the beat frequency is the difference between the left and the right tone. Left is the carrier minus half the beat, right is the carrier plus half the beat. Example: a carrier of 200 Hz and a beat of 10 Hz give 195 Hz on the left and 205 Hz on the right.
Left and Right Level control the volume of the left and right channel, coupled or separately. The dB values in Binavelle are digital dBFS values. They say nothing about the actual sound pressure at your ear, which also depends on your headphones and the system volume. Listen at a comfortable volume.
MP3, M4A/AAC, WAV, and AIFF. DRM protected streaming content, such as from Apple Music, cannot be imported as a normal file.
Check that the file is in a supported format and not DRM protected. If the file is in iCloud Drive or with a third party provider, it must be available and downloaded there. If the problem persists, contact us using the contact option below.
Trim selects the section of a file, loop repeats it, and crossfade blends the end and start when it repeats. Everything acts non destructively on playback, and your original file is not modified. Free includes trim and an automatic loop crossfade of about 250 ms. Advanced loop and custom crossfade settings are part of Pro.
Check whether loop is active for the layer. Without loop, a file ends after its length. Also check that the imported file is still in your audio library. If the problem persists, write to us with a short description of the session.
Binavelle keeps playing in the background and can be controlled through Lock Screen Now Playing and Control Center with play, pause, and resume. The availability of individual system features can depend on iOS and the device.
By default, Binavelle pauses when the headphone or Bluetooth output is lost, so audio does not unexpectedly continue through the iPhone speaker.
The Sleep Schedule is part of Pro. You set weekdays, start time, and a bedtime window, with fade in and fade out. It uses local reminders and prepares the session. A fully quit iOS app cannot be guaranteed to start audio on its own at night. If Binavelle is already running, running sessions can be controlled accordingly. Allow notifications in iOS Settings.
With Skip Tonight, you skip the Sleep Schedule for one night without changing or turning it off. Afterwards, the schedule applies again as set.
A multi stage session consists of several stages with their own beat frequencies, a different carrier frequency if needed, and their own gain. Transitions can be designed as continuous ramps. Multiple stages are part of Pro, Free includes one session stage.
Export is part of Pro. Binavelle renders the session locally as M4A/AAC or WAV, all session layers together. Sharing or saving to Files only happens on your action through iOS. There is no upload to Tommsel.
A session without a fixed end has no length that could be rendered. For export, you therefore choose a fixed export duration.
Binavelle limits creation and complexity, not listening time. Free includes unlimited playback in full audio quality, up to 5 saved sessions, 3 imported audio files, 3 custom presets, and 1 layer per type. Pro removes these quantity limits and adds multi stage sessions, advanced loop, Sleep Schedule, and local export.
Monthly (1 month) and Yearly (1 year) are auto renewing Apple subscriptions. Lifetime is a one time purchase. Intended German reference prices are €2.99 per month, €19.99 per year, and €39.99 one time. The price and currency Apple shows you before purchase apply and can differ by country or region.
Use restore in Binavelle with the Apple ID you used for the purchase. Apple handles purchase and restoration through StoreKit.
Open your Apple ID settings on the iPhone and choose Subscriptions. There you manage or cancel Binavelle Monthly and Yearly. A Lifetime purchase is not a subscription and does not need to be cancelled.
Existing content is not deleted and stays playable. You can simplify, rename, or delete it. Only new complexity above the Free limits is blocked.
You can switch the language between German and English in the Binavelle settings. After an explicit choice, it does not depend on the iPhone system language.
You can delete sessions, presets, and imported audio in the app. Removing the app deletes its local data as far as iOS provides for it. You delete exported files outside the app, for example in Files or iCloud Drive, and device backups there yourself.
