Binavelle

Binaural sessions, precise and private.

Binavelle combines a simple Quick Session for a fast start with a precise studio for everyone who wants to control frequencies, levels, and layers. The signal is generated on your iPhone, with no account and no custom server. The app is in development and is not yet available on the App Store.

01

Quick start

Quick Sessions for sleep, focus, relaxation, and meditation. You choose a goal, a duration, and a background, set the binaural value, and start.

The Quick Session keeps things deliberately simple: four choices, then playback begins. Technical details such as carrier frequency or separate levels live in the studio until you need them. The goals describe what a session is meant for, not a promised effect.

02

Precise binaural studio

In the studio you control the binaural signal precisely. Beat frequency and carrier frequency can be entered numerically, and the left and right frequencies are calculated from them.

The carrier frequency is the midpoint, the beat frequency is the difference between the two ears. Left is the carrier minus half the beat. Right is the carrier plus half the beat. Example: a carrier of 200 Hz and a beat of 10 Hz give 195 Hz on the left and 205 Hz on the right. Reverse Channels swaps the two channels.

You set the left and right level coupled or separately. The dB values shown are digital dBFS values and say nothing about the sound pressure at your ear. Binavelle generates the signal but does not measure brain waves.

03

Your own audio files

Import your own audio files locally through the iOS file picker. MP3, M4A/AAC, WAV, and AIFF are supported.

Trim, loop, crossfade, and gain act non destructively on playback: your original file is not modified. The binaural signal stays a separate layer on top of your audio file. There is no audio upload. You are responsible for using only audio you have the necessary rights to. DRM protected streaming content, such as from Apple Music, cannot be imported as a normal file.

04

Noise and background

White noise, pink noise, and brown noise are available. You can also add a background layer.

The ambience sounds are still in development. Which background sounds the first public version will include has not been decided yet.

05

Multi stage sessions

A session can consist of several stages. Each stage has its own beat frequencies, a different carrier frequency if you want, and its own gain values. Transitions can be designed as continuous ramps, a frequency journey.

Example progression: 10 Hz, 8 Hz, 5 Hz, 3 Hz. This is a technical sequence of beat frequencies, not a promised effect. Multiple stages are part of Pro, Free includes one session stage.

06

Sleep

The Sleep Player allows long or unlimited playback, including in Free. Fade In and Fade Out let a session begin and end gently.

In Pro, the Sleep Schedule sets weekdays, start time, and a bedtime window. Skip Tonight skips a night. The Sleep Schedule uses local reminders and prepares the session. A fully quit iOS app cannot be guaranteed to start audio on its own at night. If Binavelle is already running, running sessions can be controlled accordingly.

07

Background and system integration

Binavelle keeps playing in the background and can be controlled through Lock Screen Now Playing and Control Center: play, pause, and resume.

By default, Binavelle pauses when headphones or a Bluetooth output disconnect, so audio does not unexpectedly continue through the iPhone speaker. The availability of individual system features can depend on iOS and the device.

08

Local export and library

With Pro, Binavelle renders sessions locally as M4A/AAC or WAV. All session layers are rendered together. For sessions without a fixed end, you choose a fixed export duration. There is no upload to Tommsel. Sharing or saving to Files only happens on your action through iOS.

You store sessions and presets in your local library and manage imported audio in your own audio library. Existing content is kept when Pro ends.

09

German and English in the app

Binavelle is fully available in German and English. You can switch the language directly in the app. After an explicit choice, it does not depend on the iPhone system language.

10

Private by design

Binavelle has no account, no custom backend, no custom cloud database, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no audio uploads.

Sessions, settings, imported audio, waveform cache, sleep schedule, and local exports stay local or under your control. StoreKit and iOS system services are Apple services and not Tommsel servers.

11

Plainly explained

Binaural beats arise when the left and the right ear receive two different tones. The beat frequency shown describes the difference between those two tone signals.

Binavelle does not measure brain waves, make medical diagnoses, or treat diseases. No effect on sleep, concentration, stress, or brain activity is promised. Stereo headphones are intended for the stereo effect. Listen at a comfortable volume.

12

Free and Pro

Binavelle limits creation and complexity, not listening time. In Free, too, you can listen for as long as you like and in full audio quality.

Pro has three purchase options: Monthly at €2.99 per month, Yearly at €19.99 per year, and Lifetime at €39.99 one time. These are intended German reference prices because Binavelle is not released yet. The price and currency Apple shows you before purchase apply, and they can differ by country or region. Monthly and Yearly renew automatically and are managed and cancelled through Apple. Lifetime is a one time purchase.
