Cyleniva is a personal cycle journal for iPhone, currently in development. Find help with entries, symptoms, contraception, reminders, insights, reports, export, backup, Apple Health, Free, and Pro here. The app is not yet available on the App Store. Please do not send confidential health data to support unprompted.
How do I get started with Cyleniva?
You do not need an account. Decide what you want to record and add your first entries, such as bleeding or a symptom. The more regularly you record, the more meaningful the history and insights become. You can add to or change details at any time.
How do I record my period?
Enter the start and end of the bleeding and record the flow for each day. Your bleeding history in the calendar and on the timeline is built from the daily entries.
How do I record spotting?
You record spotting and intermenstrual bleeding separately from your period. This keeps them distinguishable in your history and keeps them from merging into your period.
How do I edit old entries?
Open the day in question in the calendar or in the history and change or add to the entry. This also applies to past cycles. Insights adjust to the changed data.
How does the symptom scale work?
You rate the intensity of a symptom on a scale from 0 to 10. Older, already recorded values may still be on an earlier scale from 1 to 5. They are kept in your history and are not changed.
How does pill and medication tracking work?
You set up an intake schedule and record when you actually took it. You can record missed and deviating intakes. Cyleniva is a documentation tool and does not judge whether contraception is reliable. For questions about contraception or medication, talk to your doctor.
Why might reminders not appear?
Check in iOS Settings whether notifications are allowed for Cyleniva and whether a Focus or Do Not Disturb suppresses them. Reminders are local iOS notifications. iOS controls delivery, so the timing can vary, and delivery to the exact second is not promised. Do not rely on a reminder alone for important intakes.
How do I see past days?
In the calendar and on the timeline, you move to earlier periods and open individual days with all recorded entries.
What does missing data mean?
Days without an entry stay recognisable as missing data. That does not mean nothing happened, only that nothing was recorded. Insights rely only on what you entered and can be less meaningful when there are many gaps.
How do insights work?
Cyleniva calculates basic statistics and trend charts from your entries. They describe what you recorded. They are not a diagnosis and name no causes. Pro adds custom comparison periods and extended chart types.
How do I create PDF reports?
Choose the period and the content and create the report. Standard PDF reports are included in Free. Custom report categories and saved report profiles are part of Pro. The report is a file that you share or save yourself.
How do I export my data?
The complete original data export as JSON or CSV is free. The files are not encrypted and can contain all entries in plain text. Store them safely and share them only with people or services you trust.
How do I back up my data?
Create an encrypted manual backup and store the file in a place you control, such as Files or on a computer. Cyleniva does not back up automatically to a cloud of its own. Create backups regularly, especially before changing devices.
How does restore work?
In Cyleniva, choose restore and then the backup file. For an encrypted backup, the app asks for the details it provides for this. Have them ready. After restoring, check the calendar and history for completeness.
What happens when I change devices?
Cyleniva has no proprietary cloud sync. On the old iPhone, create an encrypted backup, transfer the file to the new iPhone, and restore it there. iOS device backups can contain app data, depending on your iOS settings.
How does the optional Apple Health import work?
The import is voluntary and read only. Cyleniva asks for your permission through iOS, and you choose which data types may be read. You can change the permission at any time in Apple Health. Cyleniva also works without Apple Health.
What is free?
Free includes unlimited bleeding and symptom tracking, contraception and medication tracking, local reminders, calendar and history, stress, sleep, and everyday observations, basic statistics, simple charts, standard PDF reports, complete data export, encrypted backup with restore, standard widgets, up to three new simple templates, and four regular quick actions.
What does Pro offer?
Pro adds unlimited templates, up to six quick actions, a customisable Today page, custom comparison periods, extended chart types, custom report categories, and saved report profiles. Access to your data and export are not behind Pro.
How do I restore Pro purchases?
Use restore purchases in Cyleniva with the Apple ID you used for the purchase. Restore runs through Apple and can require an internet connection.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Monthly and Yearly are auto renewing Apple subscriptions. Open your Apple ID settings and choose Subscriptions to manage or cancel them. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
What does Lifetime mean?
Lifetime is a one time purchase without automatic renewal. It unlocks Cyleniva Pro permanently for the Apple ID you bought it with. Apple shows prices before purchase.
