01
Overview
Cyleniva is a personal cycle journal for iPhone. You record bleeding, symptoms, contraception, medication, and everyday observations in one place and later see how your own entries develop over time.
The app is built local first: your entries live on your iPhone, there is no account and no proprietary cloud sync. Cyleniva documents and summarises what you enter. The app makes no diagnoses, gives no medical recommendations, and does not replace medical advice.
02
Cycle and bleeding
You record your period with its start, end, and the flow for each individual day. This builds a bleeding history that you can follow later in the calendar and on the timeline.
Spotting and intermenstrual bleeding are recorded separately so they stay clearly distinguishable from your period in your history. You can add to or correct older entries afterwards, including past cycles. Days without an entry stay recognisable as missing data.
03
Symptoms
You create your own symptom types, such as headache, cramps, or fatigue, and record how strong they were. You record intensity on a scale from 0 to 10. Older, already recorded values may still be on an earlier scale from 1 to 5 and are kept in your history.
You can add a note to each entry and, where documented, record time and duration. You mark frequently used symptoms as favourites so you find them faster. All entries stay available as a history on your iPhone.
04
Pill, contraception, and medication
You record your contraception method and medication with an intake schedule and log what you actually took. Missed and deviating intakes can be recorded so that the plan and the actual intake sit side by side in your history.
Local reminders help you remember to take it. Cyleniva is a documentation tool: the app does not judge whether contraception is reliable and gives no intake recommendations. For questions about contraception or medication, talk to your doctor or check the package leaflet.
05
Daily life and life phases
Besides cycle and symptoms, you record what shapes your daily life: stress, sleep, illness, travel, personal events, and life phases. Measurements can be recorded as well.
This puts your observations in the same history as your cycle and symptom entries so you can look at them together. You decide which details you record.
06
Personal insights
Your entries become basic statistics and trend charts that make recorded changes visible. A data quality hint shows how complete your entries are for an analysis. With Pro, you can also compare custom periods and use extended chart types.
The insights describe what you entered. They make no diagnosis, name no causes, and do not replace a medical assessment.
07
Reports and data export
You create PDF reports for selected periods and export charts as images. You export your original data completely as JSON or CSV. Encrypted manual backups secure your data, and restore brings it back, for example when you move to a new iPhone.
Note the difference: your ongoing entries live in the app on your iPhone. Reports, exports, and backups are files you create deliberately. You decide where to store them or whom to send them to. Once you pass a file to an external service or to other people, their terms apply there.
08
Local reminders and widgets
Local reminders and check ins remind you to record entries or to log an intake. iOS delivers them on your iPhone, not through a server. Because iOS controls delivery, the timing can vary. Delivery to the exact second is not promised.
Widgets give you an overview of your current status on the Home Screen.
09
Privacy
Cyleniva is built local first. Your entries live on your iPhone. There is no Cyleniva account, no proprietary health data server, and no proprietary cloud sync.
Cyleniva uses no tracking or advertising SDKs of its own. Optional features such as the Apple Health import and purchases run through Apple system services and are explained separately in the privacy policy. It also covers what applies when you deliberately pass reports or backups to external services. You find the complete Cyleniva privacy policy through the link below.
