01

Why Keyvessa

Some photos, videos and files do not belong in the regular photo library. Keyvessa gives them a separate place of their own on your iPhone.

The app is meant for people who want to keep private content deliberately and protected, without creating an account and without content reaching a Tommsel server.

02

Private library

Keyvessa offers a separate private library for selected content. You see it in a clear library with a grid view, can filter it and select several items at once.

Images can be viewed one by one and zoomed, videos play locally and PDF documents are displayed locally.

03

Photos, videos and files

Photos, videos and files live in one place and are managed locally. Thumbnails are stored in encrypted form as well.

Which file formats are supported at release will only be settled with the final version.

04

Recovery

Keyvessa generates the recovery information your vault needs locally. You can back up your recovery set so you can keep the necessary restore information safely outside the device. A QR based presentation is part of the current state of development, and the exact formats are not final yet.

Tommsel does not store a copy of your recovery secret and cannot retrieve lost recovery information from a user account. A recovery set is sensitive, so store it safely.

Privacy

Privacy

No Keyvessa account, no backend for personal content, no advertising, no tracking of its own and no analytics SDKs. Keyvessa does not transmit your personal vault content to Tommsel servers.

Visiting this website is separate from that. The general tommsel.com privacy policy applies to it.

More technical details

Local encryption and keys

The private library is stored locally in encrypted form. The keys for your vault and the recovery material are generated on your device. Tommsel holds no copy of them.

Keyvessa does not promise absolute protection. Protection also depends on your device and how you handle recovery information. More is on the security page.

Security at Keyvessa

Import and export

You decide which content you add to Keyvessa through the iOS photo or file picker. Keyvessa does not automatically search your photos or files.

When you export content or share it through the iOS share sheet, the exported copy leaves the protected area of Keyvessa. The privacy and security terms of the location or service you then choose apply to it.

Accessibility

Keyvessa is a native iPhone app. Whether the app supports VoiceOver, larger text and other accessibility features is being verified on real devices before release. The current state is stated honestly on the accessibility page.
