App data and privacy

Data management in Ownplora

You decide what you store and share. This page shows practically how you manage your data in Ownplora. The full explanation is in the privacy policy. Ownplora is in development, and the details will be checked against the final app before release.

Which data does Ownplora store?

Observation projects, measurements, check-ins, notes, events, photos, study plans, settings and evaluations. Everything is stored locally on your device. There is no Ownplora account and no developer cloud account on which this data is stored.

How is local data managed?

In the app itself. You view, edit and delete your entries there. Because Tommsel does not receive this data, there is no central place where you could manage it.

How do I correct entries?

Open the entry and edit or delete it. Evaluations are then recalculated from the changed data.

How do I archive projects?

Observation projects you no longer run actively can be ended or archived in the app, as far as the final app offers this. The data then stays stored locally until you delete it.

How do personal exports work?

You trigger them yourself: PDF reports and machine-readable exports. The file is created on your device, and you decide where you put it or who you send it to.

What is the difference between an export and an encrypted backup?

An export is meant for reading or passing on and can be unencrypted, so anyone with the file can read it. A backup is for securing and restoring your data and is encrypted. Keep both safe.

How does a restore work?

You choose restore in the app and select your backup file and follow the steps in the app. Without your backup file and the related access information, Tommsel cannot restore any data.

How is imported Health data handled?

Ownplora only reads steps and sleep, and only with your permission. Values that are read are processed locally and stored with your records. You change access in iOS. Whether imported values can be removed individually in Ownplora will be confirmed with the final app.

How does voluntary sharing work?

Only through your action, for example through Apple's share sheet. A copy then leaves Ownplora. Whoever receives it processes it on their own responsibility.

Which copies can arise outside the app?

Exported files and backups you store, shared files held by recipients, and operating system iPhone or iCloud backups, depending on your system settings. You must manage each of these copies separately.

What should I note when uninstalling?

Deleting the app removes its local data from the device as far as iOS provides for it. Create a backup beforehand if you want to keep the data. Exported files and operating system backups are not affected.

Can Tommsel delete or hand over my data?

No, because Tommsel does not store your Ownplora records. If you have questions, write to tshfm78@gmail.com, but do not send health data or personal records.
