App security

Security at Ownplora

This page plainly describes the protections planned for Ownplora. Ownplora is in development and not yet available on the App Store. The details will be checked against the final app before release.

Local data storage

Your records are stored on your device. There is no account database of its own and no automatic transfer of your records to Tommsel.

iOS protection features

Ownplora uses the protected storage area of the app and therefore relies on the protection features of iOS, such as the device lock and file protection. No protection level beyond iOS is promised for the app data. Use a device passcode.

Encrypted backup archives

Personal Ownplora backups are planned as encrypted archives. You store them yourself. Keep the backup file and any related access information safe.

Apple Health permission

Access to Apple Health is optional and read only, for steps and sleep. It only happens after your permission in iOS, and you can change it at any time.

Widgets

Widgets are meant to use minimal status information from an App Group container, not your complete records. Widget content may be visible to others depending on device configuration.

Voluntary exports and unencrypted files

You trigger exports yourself. PDF reports and machine-readable exports are partly unencrypted and can contain sensitive information. Whoever receives the file can read it. Only pass them to recipients you trust.

External study templates

Imported templates are structured data from third parties. Only import templates from sources you trust. Importing transmits none of your data.

Limits

No security product is absolute. Protection depends on your device, on iOS and on how you handle exports and backups. Ownplora claims no certification and no independent security audit.

Security reporting

If you found a security problem in Ownplora, please write to tshfm78@gmail.com with the subject Security. Describe the problem, the iOS version and the steps to reproduce it. Please do not attach health data, backups or personal records.
