App support
Pourniva is a native iPhone and iPad app for cocktails, mocktails and drinks. The app is in development and not yet available on the App Store. This page describes the planned flow, and labels in the app can change before release.
Update the app, restart it, and check that your device has enough free storage. The catalog is stored locally in the app and needs no internet connection for that.
Check the search term and active filters. The local catalog currently holds 50 drinks, 10 of them alcohol-free, and is not complete yet. If a drink is missing, you can create your own drink.
You record locally which ingredients you have. Pourniva then shows you which drinks you can make right away, which ones are missing one or two ingredients, and which are possible with an explicitly defined substitute.
Then exactly one ingredient of the recipe is missing from your home bar. Pourniva shows you which one. Pourniva matches ingredients through controlled ingredient hierarchies and not through similar names.
A substitute only counts if it is explicitly defined for the recipe. Pourniva does not suggest substitutes based on fuzzy name matching.
Adjust the portions and the amounts are converted accordingly. Amounts can be shown in ml, cl and oz.
The guided Mixing Mode takes you through the preparation step by step, with ingredients and amounts, glass, tools and technique. Technique visualizations respect Reduce Motion.
Timers in the Mixing Mode run locally in the app and need no internet connection.
Save a personal version of a drink and adjust, for example, amounts, ingredients, garnish, tips, rating and photo. The curated original stays unchanged.
Create a completely new drink. It is stored locally and used in the same mixing flow as curated recipes, including your own tips for each mixing step.
Add your own spirits or bottles to your bar. You enter your own ABV value yourself. It is user input and is not presented as verified.
Choose a photo through Apple's PhotosPicker. Pourniva stores an optimized copy and a thumbnail of it locally. The original photo in Apple Photos is not changed. You can remove the photo from the recipe again.
Choose the photo again or a different photo and check your free storage. If a photo is not held locally on the device, iOS may have to load it first when you choose it. That is a function of iOS and not of Pourniva.
Imported files are read and validated locally, and no external resources are loaded. Imported recipes are not automatically curated or verified Pourniva recipes. Check the source of a file before you use it.
Share cards and .drinkrecipe files are created locally. They only leave the app when you send them to a destination through the iOS share sheet. Private notes are not included automatically. The destination you choose has its own terms.
They are local estimates based on the available ingredient information and your input, not an exact value for the finished drink. The energy only refers to the alcohol, not to the whole drink. Do not use the values for medical decisions or the question of whether you may drive. Pourniva does not calculate a blood alcohol value.
Home bar, favorites, collections, history, ratings, notes, your own drinks and photos are stored locally on your device. There is no account and no backend of its own for them.
You find the privacy policy and a practical overview of your privacy options through the links at the bottom of this page.
You delete individual content with the functions of the app, for example favorites, personal recipes, your own bottles and photos. Whether the app additionally offers a central delete function will be described at release. Deleting the app removes its local data as far as iOS provides for it. You delete exported files separately.
